Gun for Glory Shooting Academy opens branch in Bhubaneswar

Olympian Gagan Narang’s Pune based Gun for Glory Shooting Academy launched its branch in Bhubaneswar yesterday. Located in the third floor of Khadi Niketan Soudha in Chandrasekharpur District Center, the shooting range is equipped with 10 lanes for 10 metre air rifle and air pistol shooting.

This is the seventh center of the Gun for Glory Academy and was inaugurated by Odisha Rifle Association secretary Hari Prasad Pattnaik in presence of international shooter and Gun For Glory alumni Shriyanka Sarangi and franchise co-owners Gurbachan Singh, Renu Choudhuray and trainer Sourav Salon.

The new institute plans to intake four batches of students in the preliminary stage and aims to train students for Olympics level competitions. ``We can have 10 students in every batch. Students above 11 years of age can join us,’’ said co-owner Choudhury.

The academy gives hopes to aspiring shooters from the state as there has been a severe lack of shooting training infrastructure and trainers in the state.
